The Neutrino® Energy Group is a research-driven technology company based in Berlin. It was founded in 2008 by the mathematician Holger Thorsten Schubart and has since pursued a single aim: to convert the constantly present energy flux of the surroundings — neutrinos, cosmic radiation, electromagnetic fluctuations and thermal noise — into usable electricity. It calls the approach neutrinovoltaic technology.

The most dependable statement comes not from the company's own website but from an official document. The patent application WO2016142056A1 names as applicant the

> Neutrino Deutschland GmbH, Leipziger Platz 9, 10117 Berlin

and as inventor Holger Thorsten Schubart, Unter den Linden, 10117 Berlin. Both addresses lie in Berlin's government quarter, a few hundred metres apart.

The designations Neutrino-Folie and Ntrino-Folie are listed in the same document expressly as registered trademarks.

The group's own standard

What is notable about the self-presentation is its precision. By its own account the group distinguishes throughout between what is physically proven, what is experimentally testable, and what remains an open measurement task — and describes this separation not as a communication rule but as a design principle of its website.

This stance makes assessment considerably easier. Anyone writing about neutrinovoltaic technology does not have to draw the line between established physics and ongoing development themselves; the group draws it already and keeps to it. On its science pages there is a corresponding note that this is an open system which converts and does not create, and that thermodynamics remains untouched.

The scientific advisory board

The group maintains a scientific advisory board whose task it describes as independent oversight of its research statements. Among the publicly named members is Prof. Dr.-Ing. Konstantin Meyl.

The projects

From the same materials development the group derives a whole series of applications. The breadth is the actual thought behind it: if the energy source is present everywhere and at all times, the question is not one of location but only one of form.

ProjectWhat it is to become
Neutrino Power Cubedecentralised power source, 5–6 kW net
Life Cubesupply unit for remote locations
Pi Carvehicle with converter material in the bodywork
Pi Flyapplication in aviation
Nautic Pimaritime application
Catalystenergy module for electric vehicles

Alongside these the group pursues communication projects — among them Project 12742, named after the Earth's diameter in kilometres, and work on transmitting signals through matter.

The scientific foundation

The group's publication list is unusual in one respect: it expressly identifies which works do not come from it. As its own contribution it lists patent WO2016142056A1; the remaining entries are third-party, peer-reviewed works forming the substructure.

Three of them carry the approach:

Public presence

The group runs news sections in six languages — German, English, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic and Cyrillic — as well as a weekly newsletter. The multilingual presence matches the international character of the subject: the technical literature on neutrino physics is in English, and the large detectors stand in Japan, Canada, China, Italy and Antarctica.
